Two face to face training courses for teachers have been organised in Hungary.
From 8th to 9th of April, the training was organised in Budapest while in May the training was organised in Debrecen. The trainings brought together a team of dedicated school teachers with theatre pedagogues and actors in order to explore together the potential of theatre to approach gender-based violence in schools.
The training of teachers in Greece was organised in May 2022 in the premises of the Aeroploio theatre in Athens. Around 30 teachers from secondary education were gathered on a weekend in the theatre in order to learn theatre techniques coming from Creative Drama, Forum Theatre, Interactive Theatre etc and to experience in practice educational scenarios that are described in the handbook.
ANTIGONE project has organised an online international training course on the use of theatre as a method to approach Gender Based Violence in the classroom. The course was organised in 6 sessions (twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday) starting from the 1st of March and finishing on the 17th 2022.
The aim of the course was to empower teachers to use theatre methods in order to raise awareness to their students about gender-based violence. Some of the topics that are going to be addressed are the following: Introduction to the concept of gender-based violence; Signs of gender-based violence and what you can do to help; Introduction to the forum theatre; Organisation of experiential drama lessons; How to engage students in participating in theatre; Organisation of text-based drama exercises; Development of lesson plans.
All the partners have delivered a part of the course according to their own expertise. The participants came from the countries of the partnership but also from many countries that do not make part of the partnership such as Portugal, Romania, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Poland, Bosnia and others.
Dah Teatar organised the training of teachers’ seminar “Antigone – Awareness raising on gender based violence through theatre based school workshops” at the Filoloska Gimnazija in Belgrade at the end of May 2022. Thirty high school teachers from Serbia participated in workshops on gender-based violence and the application of applied theater techniques. The program was led by our Dijana Milosevic and Ivana Milenovic Popovic.

The course is going to be organised via zoom in English, 16:00- 19:00 Central European Time on the following dates: 1/3, 3/3, 8/3, 10/3, 15/3, 17/3. A certificate of attendance is provided following the successful implementation of at least one lesson plan in your classroom.
ANTIGONE is an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for Schools project. The course is designed and delivered by the partners of the project: Realstars (expert in Gender Based Violence), Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, INSITE Drama, DAH Theatre, Fondazione AIDA, Aeroploio Theatre, Action Synergy and the Association of Young Psychologists in Bulgaria.
From the 12th until the 14th of October 2021, it was organised in Budapest the training of trainers of the ANTIGONE project. Teachers, artists and gender experts from 7 countries have gathered in a 3 day event where they had the chance to learn and experience theatre techniques that could be used in order to promote awareness on gender-based violence, develop their knowledge on gender-based violence and discuss how these techniques could be used in the classroom. The trainers that have been trained in this event will be responsible to train secondary school teachers on the method.
